“Imagine War” is a concert performance based on a repertoire of covers with slightly modified, or more precisely “updated” lyrics. The textbook of the piece contains only the modified lyrics, but does not provide any instructions regarding the number of performers, the formation or the musical arrangement. As a result, depending on the different performances, several versions are realizable – solo, duo, band or even orchestral.
As for the covers, the 10-song compilation is a selection of well-known hits from the 60s and 70s. The musical interpretation leaves the songs recognisable, but the recognisability of the lyrics is misleading. We don’t actually hear what we think we hear from memory. Although the lyrics are transcriptions with minimal formal interventions, the substitution of a few significant words results in a complete transformation of the content.
Repertoire with updated song titles: Here Comes The Gun, I’ll Be Your Terror, I Serve, Unity In The A.K., Who Knows?, Lie Alphabet, Ending On My Mind, Meme Fatale, Imagine War, Crime Is On My Side.
